Smart Group: Optimizing Local Security

iWeb is proud to launch a new feature included in the SuperSmart package for Smart Servers: Smart Group. Smart Group is a private virtual LAN service for all your Smart Servers in your account and is completely dedicated to your account. Servers within a group can communicate while remaining invisible to other clients’ servers connected to the same local network, like a private rack.

With Smart Group comes many benefits: the installation requires no manual intervention and provides you the freedom to manage your private LAN in the Control Center. The Smart Servers share information on a local link, which increases the security of your servers. The Smart Group is installed on the Smart Layer, which makes the installation immediate, eliminates any need for downtime on your server and doesn’t require that we physically move your servers in the datacenter.

Smart Servers within a Smart Group can share as much data as you need, since the local bandwidth is unlimited with the SuperSmart package. For example, you will be able to create a group for a Web server and a database server, without connecting the database server to the public network. You could also install a Load-Balancing server that is accessible via the public network and that can manage the load distribution within your private virtual LAN.

To give you a preview, here is the video tutorial of the Smart Group:

As you can see, you need only drag and drop the Smart Servers in your account to your Smart Group directly from the Control Center.

This service is included in the SuperSmart package offered at 20$ per month.
