An overview of RAID technology
RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is a technology allowing a higher level of storage reliability and performance from disk-drive components via the technique of arranging them into arrays. A RAID array is a configuration with multiple physical disks set up to use a RAID architecture like RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, etc. While the RAID array distributes data across multiple disks, it is considered as a single disk by the server operating system. What is the “Google Slap” and how to avoid it?
Google, is the most popular search engine in the world holding approximately 70% of the market share. It has now become the leading tool to search for information on the Internet. News from iWeb-NE data center
Some time ago we announced the construction of a new data center.
For this fourth data center we wanted to innovate both in terms of network architecture, for example with the automated provisioning of servers, and in terms of power management and cooling. In addition to the glycol cooling, we will use XDC units that will inject cold air allowing a high density of servers.
Our CTO, Cyril Mertès, is even researching a way to use recycled water during the summer instead of glycol in order to further reduce our energy footprint. (more…)
Do you know our storage solutions?
The first question one should ask is why use a storage solution rather than a regular hard drive?
Hard drives are useful to store and quickly access to data but they may fail at any time or even alter and delete data. (more…)
