Slow-down in our recursive DNS Servers

Published on July 8, 2009 at 5:37 pm by iWeb-Jean-Luc in: Status

There is currently a slow-down of our recursive DNS servers which might cause a delay for SSH connexions to servers using the DNS servers 209.172.41.220 and 209.172.41.202.

This does not affect customers using the DNS servers my.privatedns.com / your.privatedns.com and Panelbox.

Next communication in 30 minutes.

  1. ….an hour later…
This is affecting all my outgoing connections as well – I can’t even connect to outside servers using IPs instead of hostnames. If I’m reeeeeally lucky, I can get a connection going after 20-30 seconds, but that’s it.

  2. All is fine now. Do you still have a problem with your connections?

Please contact the customer support for this.

  3. We are still having issues too. We cannot connect to external hosts. 9am july 9th GMT +10

  4. Likewise, DNS is stone cold dead and all forms of outgoing connections either fail or take forever to get established. I’ve set up a ticket for it now, hopefully it’ll get resolved soon (as I depend a lot on both a working DNS as well as outgoing connections for my work).

  5. we have worked around this issue by using microsofts DNS servers 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1

You can update your dns settings by editing the file /etc/resolv.conf

Please let us know when the iweb dns servers are working again.
